22ct gold historical Irish knot pendant

22ct Gold pendant with blood red garnet stone made using chasing and repoussé...

This very special ancient design is taken from a baked clay clip mould found in Moynagh Lough Co Meath. Dating from the 7th-8th century this knot shares many similarities from other pieces of the era, such as the Lough Erne shrine, and other Viking age deposits in Scandinavia. A recently discovered Irish example was part of a set of saddle fittings, and also a stud mount from Nendrum Co Down..

On 9ct 18” chain unless otherwise requested 

Hallmarked in Edinburgh 

(All pieces Hallmarked from now to December 2024 will receive the Kings coronation stamp)
